They had 2 oil filters hanging from them. The Big Cam III's went to a different style oil cooler which used a smaller body core and different shape. They only had one oil filter hanging from them.

The core area was probably about 4.5" around. Big Cam I and II's used a large body oil cooler. You can identify it by looking at the oil cooler. 350 BC3, JAKES,530 CPL,TEST RUN,BEARINGS CHECKED, 6 MOS WARRANTY. If it is the original engine I would say it is likely a Big Cam III. Look for coolant or heavy water stains on top of the deck running down under the exhaust manifold. The best place to inspect for this is the exhaust side of the engine. Most likely this engine has had this repaired before. This was a fairly common problem with the Big Cam series until they went with the lower press fit liners. This can be caused by a bad head gasket and/or worse coolant leaking out of the counterbore area which is a serious repair bill. The biggest thing to look for is coolant stains coming out from in between the cylinder heads.
